The Complete Guide to Choosing the Right Parts Washer Size
Getting the size right matters more than most people realize. An undersized parts washer creates bottlenecks — parts back up, operators wait, and the washer becomes the constraint on your entire workflow. An oversized washer wastes capital, floor space, and energy heating a larger tank than you need.
Start with Your Largest Part
Measure the length, width, and height of your largest typical component. The X81 series offers turntables from 15" to 30" for small to mid-sized parts. The X51 series steps up to 35" to 55" for larger components. The Eco series pushes to 51" x 51" turntables handling loads up to 1,500 lbs. For front-load (X53/X53/2), platforms reach up to 59" x 59". For immersion (Agita), the A700, A900, and A1100 offer progressively larger cleaning platforms.
Consider Your Weight
Magido spray cabinet washers range from 330 lbs load capacity on compact X81 models to 1,500 lbs on the largest Eco series machines. Make sure the washer's load rating exceeds the weight of your heaviest typical load — with margin for the occasional oversized job.
Batch vs. Continuous
Batch washers (spray cabinets and immersion) are most efficient for dozens to a few hundred parts per shift. Continuous-feed washers (belt conveyors and rotary drums) make sense for hundreds to thousands of small parts per shift, or when your production line runs continuously. Magido offers both: Silver, Gold series belt conveyors and Jolly, Spira series rotary drums for continuous operation.
Don't Forget Floor Space
Measure the available space including clearance for the door/lid to open, operator access, and utility connections. Magido's X81 series compact top-load washers are designed specifically for tight spaces. If you're not sure, Magido offers free process evaluations — call 844-4MA-GIDO or email Sales@MagidoUSA.com.
